  • This music includes many of the locations and ideas that we were planning to incorporate with our music video
  • The music video doesn't show the same narrative as what we are hoping to create however, the locations help to show the similar effect we would like to create with our shots
  • The use of forward panning and tracking in many of the shots are what we would like to create with our male and female characters to show how their enfolds when they venture through London together
  • The cutting rate tends to be quite fast in the video which helps with the fast pace tempo of the soundtrack, this is something we have considered with our music video as we would like to intercut between two lines of action
  • Time lapse shots are used throughout the video. This connotes a changes in time and mood as the fast cutting rate helps to supplement the change in atmosphere
  • A handicam is mostly used in the shots that feature close ups of characters. This connotes a change in emotion as the audience feels as if they are in contact with how the character is feeling. The euphoric beat of the song helps to add to this feeling and atmosphere as we watch this music video
  • In many of the shots, the female character is in the middle section of the frame. This causes the focus to be sustained on the character
  • As the tempo of the track builds up, the narrative becomes more clear and the audience understand that the female character is the main focus of the video. This is something we have thought about with our music video
  • The panning shots in the club helps to sustain the fast pace tempo with visual effects as well as the lighting and lasers to support the melancholic vibe

  1. Excellent research post, L4 standard. Met deadline, task complete, clearly linked to concept development. More feedback to follow

  2. Lots of interesting visual ideas here - use of VFX for light trails, the fast cut stop motion sequence of the girl in different locations is achievable - are these something you'd like to take forward into your work?
