- I have learnt from doing this task that by using a different range of movement in the camera it can create a dramatic effect and especially using slow mo as this amplifys the movements of the characters to make ti seem more dramatic. This can be seen in the first shot and the later shots of the characters on the skate boards.
- The shorts are relatively long for a music video this is because they are in slow motion and therefore the time is extended however during the middle and the chorus of the song they are faster pace as the cutting rate picks up with the music. The song has a slow tempo and this is why the cutting rate for the music is slow.
- camera moves with the pace of the music this brings the audience into new scenes when the song changes and the smooth flow of the camera is very fitting with the slow tempo of the music.
- There is a use of camera techniques used and lots of mise-en-scene especially related to colour as through the happy times we see warmer more bright colours, the use of the camera such as out of focus shots and pull focus is something which i think can be incorporated into our video as it makes very interesting shots.
Excellent research post, L4 standard. Met deadline, task complete, clearly linked to concept development. More feedback to follow
ReplyDeleteThis is a really effective video - presenting artists as present and absent in particular (that is XX in video?) - it seems to me the colour at the end signifies the 'magic', creativity produced in their relationship through their music. The skateboard shots are really effective in framing their relationship as familiar, comfortable with each other. Shooting at night is a real technical challenge - is this something you had considered doing?
