NW: Reflection on shoot

What was my role on the shoot?
  • I mainly helped to carry the equipment around the locations and made sure we were filming all the right shots in each location, i also was making sure we weren't getting in the way of the public and keeping an eye on the time so we got the correct lighting for our shots.
  • I also did some filming, for example handicam shots in the vintage shop in Brick Lane, the jib shot on South Bank, over the shoulder shots near the London Eye, the time lapse in Brick Lane, among others.
  • I also brought my camera with me and took production photos throughout the day, showing our equipment and locations, along with cast and crew.
What went well?
  • We managed to film all our shots in one day, so this meant that the lighting was fairly consistent and the costumes/makeup of our actors are exactly the same.
  • We worked well together and had a clear plan of what shots we needed.
  • We were able to put together the equipment quickly so we didn't waste much time setting up or packing away which allowed us to get all the shots we wanted plus extras.
What could have gone better?
  • It started to rain at the end of the day so we had to make sure equipment was dry- but the weather cant be helped.
  • if we had more time we could have reviewed the shots straight away but we were conscious of the time and wanted to make sure we got to all the locations so didn't always have time to do this.
